In 2015 Jenny Argante took over the organisation of NZFWA but advised there were no funds for it to continue from mid 2018.  The website will remain as a potential contact point for anyone who wishes to reorganise, until the expiry of the domain name in early 2019.

Writers' groups aren't always to hand, which means too many writers don't get the support and encouragement that comes from sharing. So where do you go to then to learn what you must know? Like the different kinds of writing and what they demand; how to get started and how to get published, and other dos and don'ts.

Writing can be a lonely craft, but you don't need to go it alone. Freelance - Writers Helping Writers* has been around for 36 years and is open to writers of all ages, from beginners to professionals. Within the pages of our magazine - available as a print copy, e-zine, downloadable PDF or app - we cover all aspects of writing whether fact or fiction. You do not have to be a published writer. The only thing we ask from you is an interest in writing.

Freelance is firmly New Zealand-based and New Zealand-biased, but we do have members overseas, and especially in Australia. We're quarterly, but in between times you can visit us on Facebook and also sign up to receive information about competitions, awards and other writerly matters.

From March 2015 onward our lead article is always going to be A Writer's Journey, where someone who's done it tells you how. We also encourage our subscribers to share their own discoveries with other readers - especially what worked, but also what didn't! - or to ask a question of Hene Pukapuka, our agony aunt, or send a letter to Write of Reply.

Writers helping writers is what we're all about.
